Christine Langham and CB Haulage have seen great success over the years, powered exclusively by DAF 44 tonne articulated lorries. Their achievements are yet furthered by their contribution to the community and the Armed Forces, in the form of a custom designed, Poppy inspired truck – which certainly captures the heart of the community wherever it visits.
On Saturday 24th March, at Walsh and Co’s first ‘Withernsea Entrepreneur Workshop’, free events aimed to advise and inspire start-ups in and around the Holderness area, the Poppy Truck made a surprise appearance. Christine was more than happy to pay accountant and friend, Howard Walsh a visit as well as meet fellow director Andy Steele.
Christine commented ‘Walsh and Co 360 have supported my haulage company, CB Haulage, since it was founded ten years ago. Helping with my company accounts and in the direction of my business.’
It is two years since The Poppy Truck was introduced to the public and is currently fully funded by its owner, aiming to raise money for the Armed Forces and for other various charities, traveling up and down the country. The primary charity Supported through the Team Poppy initiative is the Royal British Legion. Christine takes pride in the message that remembrance for those in the Armed Forces is not just something that should take place once a year, but every day.
Howard Walsh also commented ‘Christine is so generous when it comes to raising awareness for this fantastic cause, dedicating her time and money to the truck. Even asking for the gifts at her wedding to be in the form of donations to the British Legion – truly inspiring’
No trucks are guaranteed at the next Withernsea Entrepreneur Workshop however expert advice and guidance on starting up in business is assured. The next workshop takes place on Saturday 28th April from 9am – 12pm. Please click here for more information. Upcoming events for The Poppy Truck include Truckfest Peterborough on Sunday 6th and Monday 7th May, and updates on all of the places Christine and the Truck will be visiting can be found by liking ‘The Poppy Truck’ on Facebook.
